Vancomycin은 화학합성이 매우 어려운 구조인 cyclic hepta peptide 구조의 aglycone 에 당이 수직된 형태의 글라이코펩타이드계(glycopeptides) 항생제이며 세포벽 합성을 저해하는
항균 기작을 지니는 그람 양성 세균성 감염 질환의 예방치료제입니다. 특히 페니실린이나 세파로스포린계의 항생제에 저항이 있는 세균성 질환에 광범위하게 사용됩니다. -
반코마이신은 주로 공업적으로 발효에 의해 생산되며, 주로 정맥주사로 투여하여 다양한 감염증(패혈증, 피부감염, 요로감염, 창상감염 등)의 치료에 쓰이며, 또한 장관 및 안 질환 감염증
치료등에 경구 혹은 점안제로 투여되어 사용됩니다.
